چکیده

Excisional atherectomy alone or followed by balloon angioplasty in patients with infra-inguinal peripheral artery disease is an acceptable and appropriate treatment strategy. In this article, a case study of 67-year-old man who had intravascular foreign body removed due to aterectomy device fracture while performing arterial the Cardiovascular Surgery Unit our hospital presented. The was demonstrated digital subtraction angiography examination. Access superficial femoral made incision on anterior 1/3 right thigh, broken part excised. Surgical intervention may be required remove that during atherectomy. Keywords: Peripheral disease; atherectomy;

Calcified in-stent restenosis: a rare cause of dilation failure requiring rotational atherectomy.

The acute results of repeated interventions for patients with in-stent restenosis (ISR) are largely satisfactory, although some patients may still have recurrences.1,2 In this anatomic scenario, lack of initial angiographic success is exceedingly rare.1,2 We report a patient with “undilatable” ISR that eventually required rotational atherectomy to achieve procedural success. Optical coherence t...

Rotational atherectomy for the treatment of in-stent restenosis.

Restenosis after coronary stent implantation remains the major limitation of this treatment modality. At present, re-dilatation is considered the therapeutic option of choice for focal lesions, however, long restenotic lesions (>10 mm) do not respond favourably. Despite the emerging concept of intracoronary radiation, encouraging acute procedural results are also reported for different debulkin...

Novel Use of an Orbital Atherectomy Device for In-Stent Restenosis: Lessons Learned

We present a case of a 67-year-old man with stage III chronic kidney disease, uncontrolled diabetes mellitus, coronary artery disease, and high surgical risk who presented with two episodes of acute coronary syndrome attributed to in-stent restenosis (ISR) associated with heavily calcified lesions. In this case, we were able to improve luminal patency with orbital atherectomy system (OAS); howe...

Rotational atherectomy does not reduce recurrent in-stent restenosis: results of the angioplasty versus rotational atherectomy for treatment of diffuse in-stent restenosis trial (ARTIST).

BACKGROUND Aim of this trial was to compare rotational atherectomy followed by balloon angioplasty (rotablation [ROTA] group) with balloon angioplasty (percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty [PTCA] group) alone in patients with diffuse in-stent restenosis. METHODS AND RESULTS The ARTIST study is a multicenter, randomized, prospective European trial with 298 patients with in-stent rest...

Late restenosis related to cypher stent fracture.

Drug-eluting stents represent a significant evolution in the therapy of coronary artery disease. Recently, restenosis and thrombosis related to drug-eluting stent fractures have been described. This work reports a case of fracture of a drug-eluting stent 18 months after implantation, associated with restenosis.
